Three Reasons Why GLPL Bracket A Should Be Renamed Bracket WI

The Great Lakes Power League 16s league had another round over the weekend and not one, not two, but three different Wisconsin clubs will be represented in Bracket A in the next round:

• Wisconsin Juniors 16-1 started in Bracket A and won it outright with wins over Far Out 16 Yellow, Powerhouse 16 Black and Dead Frogs 15-1
• Milwaukee Sting 15-1 won Bracket B, which moves them up to Bracket A for the next round
• Capital 16 Nike Navy finished second in Bracket B, which also moves them up to Bracket A

Wisconsin clubs were also well-represented in some of the other brackets: Wisconsin Juniors 15-1 won Bracket D, Milwaukee Sting 15 Black won Bracket F, Wisconsin Juniors 14-1 won Bracket J.

Good job, Wisconsin (as always).

Veni, Vidi, Vici for Wiski

Congrats to Wisconsin Juniors 18-1, Wisconsin Juniors 17-1 and Wisconsin Juniors 14-1 for doing a veni, vidi, vici beatdown in Illinois last weekend.

Combined, the three teams had a 47-9 record in sets (or should that be XLVII - IX?).

And while we're talking about this whole Wisconsin-Illinois thing, we also noticed that Wisconsin Juniors 18-1's Kaitlyn Wilks (Union Grove '10) will continue her volleyball career at Division III Elmhurst College. Congrats.

In related news, Milwaukee Sting 16 White finished runner-up in 15/16 Club and Wisconsin Juniors 16-1 finished tied for third in 15/16 Open.

Lazy Sunday Post (With a Few Monday Morning Updates)

This is becoming a bad habit. Please accept our apologies as we crank out another fast post about which Wisconsin teams are in their respective gold playoffs at the SCVA tournament in Southern California:

• North Shore 18 Navy is in the gold playoffs and will play Monday at noon Wisconsin time.
• West Allis Lightning 15 appears to be undefeated going into Monday's gold playoffs, and North Shore 15 Navy will be in the 15 Open gold playoffs as well.
• North Shore 14 Navy appears to have made their gold playoffs as well.
