MB, Heart, Teal Ribbon

If you read the entire story on the Milwaukee Sting site about Hannah Blanchard's verbal to UW-Milwaukee, you'll also learn about the health struggles of Hannah's younger sister and the touching account of what one Illinois club team did to show their support. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Blanchard family.

After reading the MB, Heart, Teal Ribbon post I went to the Sting website to learn more. What a touching article, not only because of the tribute by the 14 White team to their teammate but also because of the tribute by the Sky High 13 Black team. Kudos to the Sky High dad for being inquisitive!

Everyday we read or hear stories about today's youth and how unmotivated, self-centered, and in some cases downright nasty they are...but my volleyball friends, we're fortunate! Fortunate because our children participate in a sport that teaches so many life lessons. Respect and compassion being two of the most important...for the most part volleyballers are wonderful children, siblings, students, and great future adults. Martha's teammates provided it and the Sky High girls reinforced it...

Martha Blanchard is in our prayers!
