Five Set Thriller in Arizona (And Other Entirely Random Reports)
Here's a smattering of random reports:
- Wisconsin-Milwaukee volleyball won a five-set thriller over Denver in Arizona
- Duquesne's Patti Abshire (Catholic Memorial '11) was named to the all-tournament team at the Duquesne Invitational
- Merrill won the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Open. Merrill's Jess Sabey was tournament MVP. Tomahawk's Kellan Flynn and Merrill's Renee Sladek were also on the all-tournament team
- Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel story on the Joust
- Iowa's Nikki Dailey (Franklin '10), Marquette's Chelsea Heier and Marquette's Danielle Carlson (Marshfield '09) were named to the all-tournament team at the Hawkeye Challenge
- Samantha Rogers is the new assistant coach at UW-Platteville

New N.E.W. News and Possible Changes to Our Master Lists
Northern Michigan recently added a defensive specialist: Kalin Zimmerman (Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran '09).

From Sussex to West Allis to Mexico to Argentina
Congratulations, Josh Kirchner (Sussex Hamilton '12 and West Allis Lightning 17-1) on making the 2011 boys youth national team, which will be playing in Mexico and Argentina later this year.

2013 Badger Verbal Lauren Carlini Makes 2011 U.S. Girls National Team
The setter/right side from Illinois will be part of the team competing in Turkey this August. Here's a story in the Chicago Sun Times.
Discerning eyes will also notice that former Wisconsin-Parkside player and coach Melissa Wolter is an assistant coach for the team. Congrats to both.
