But since we're currently watching Monday Night Football (it's another sport some people follow in the fall) and since the Washington quarterback has yet to throw an interception this season, we thought it might be a good time to take a short break from all the in-state news and read up on two successful volleyball "quarterbacks," one playing for Ole Miss and the other for Valparaiso.
The "quarterback" of Ole Miss is, of course, former Watertown Luther Prep star Rachel Kieckhaefer. We stumbled across this feature article about Rachel on the Ole Miss site, fittingly titled, "The Quarterback of Volleyball."
And the other QB is Valpo junior and former Waukesha West star Kim Bukowski, who was just named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week for (and we quote) "quarterbacking the Valpo offense in two road sweeps last weekend." She also became just the seventh player in Valpo volleyball history to record more than 2,000 sets in her career.
Congrats to both. Now back to the playoffs.
