When trying to predict what some of the closer matches might be tonight, we obviously started by looking at teams with similar seedings.Wausau East and Wausau West definitely qualify.
Wausau East is the No. 4 seed in its D1 S1 regional and West is No. 5. Tonight's match will, in fact, be a rematch of the October 2nd contest that East won in four (23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22). Statistically, Wausau East is led by Ellie Hovda (148 kills), Jessica Louis (341 assists) and Taylor Viegut (122 digs). Wausau West, on the other hand, is led by Carissa Whalen (136 kills), Briah Fischer (349 assists) and Nicole Sweeney (179 digs). Awaiting the winner: 2007 state semifinalist DC Everest on Saturday.
First round starts in a little more than six hours.
