Cloverbelt Update (Because, Well, That's What This Blog Is All About)

The mission of this blog is to promote our favorite sport in our favorite state, wherever in Wisconsin that happens to be. With this in mind, we've decided to check in on a small-school conference that typically doesn't get much statewide ink (at least, not until the state tournament).

We're speaking, of course, about the Cloverbelt Conference, both West and East.

Greenwood (D4 S1) and Colby (D3 S2) sit atop the Cloverbelt East, while Eau Claire Regis (D3 S1) leads the Cloverbelt West. Regis's 6-1 overall mark includes victories over several larger schools, including Eau Claire North (D1 S1), Eau Claire Memorial (D1 S1), Altoona (D2 S1) and Onalaska (D2 S1). The Lady Ramblers will be put to the test Thursday night when they face Stanley-Boyd (D3 S2), which is currently 2-1 in conference.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram provides some nice prep coverage of this conference, including the numbers on Chippewa Falls McDonell's 15-13 fifth-set triumph over Stanley-Boyd on Tuesday night, in which Christi Schoch's 22 kills gained her a spot on the 20+ kill club.

So there's your Cloverbelt Update. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night.
