Direct Pickup of UW-Oshkosh Men's Volleyball Release

Keesecker Joins Titans’ Recruiting Class

Eddie Keesecker, a 6-4 left-side hitter from Itasca, Illinois will be joining the UW-Oshkosh men’s volleyball team according to head coach Brian Schaefer.

Keesecker joins Jake Ahnert (Burlington), Shane Heyrman (Green Bay Preble), Ryan Hoffland (Wauwatosa East), Mitch Lahmann (Wauwatosa West), Sean Murphy (Mukwonago), Brandon Wagner (Mukwonago) and Tyler Wiedenhoeft (Homestead) as members of the Titans’ 2011-2012 recruiting class.

“Eddie compliments our already great recruiting class,” said Schaefer. “We have a great mix of talent coming to learn from our veteran group. We have our entire national championship team coming back and that will give an opportunity for our freshmen to play against great players every day in practice. With that experience, this group will be ready to take over when they become sophomores.”

Keesecker is from Lake Park High School where he was coached by Brad Baker. The Lancers were the two-time Upstate 8 Conference champions the two years Keesecker was on varsity.

Keesecker also plays for Sports Performance Volleyball Club under the direction of head coach Brandon Skweres and is the son of Ed and Heidi Keesecker.

“Eddie is a great athlete and is very dynamic at the net,” added Schaefer. “He has all the tools to be a big gun on the outside for us and I look forward to seeing where he takes his talent.”

“UW-Oshkosh is a school where I feel I can excel in both academics and volleyball,” said Keesecker. “I felt at home after my campus visit.”

Keesecker, who has been named to the Lake Park High School high academic honor roll is undecided on an intended major.
