Congratulations to all named to this team- all are deserving. How might one explain the absence of Mike Michelau, the outside from Westosha? He dominated the matches that I saw him play and has developed into one of the top players in the state. He deserves this recognition as well.
OK, so we usually don't publish comments like the one above because any selection process is by definition subjective. They're fun and all but you know they're still subjective. And what we love most about volleyball is that it is OBJECTIVELY settled on the court. And that it's the ultimate TEAM sport where any individual accolade is appropriately balanced by the very real fact five other individuals on the court have helped make it possible. We are NOT going to publish any back-and-forth comments about this particular player or others. We published this one somewhat on a whim, mostly because he's a junior who clearly had an impact on the Westosha's success this year and we feel there's no reason why he shouldn't be on everyone's radar. This is NOT to say that we agree or disagree with the inclusion or exclusion of him or anyone else on the current all-state or all-area lists. We'll remain neutral on that particular topic. We also reserve our blogger's prerogative for this to be the last word on this subject that will appear here. No other comments will be accepted related to who's in and who's not. No exceptions. Congrats again to all who were named to the team.
I am confused at which list this is supposed to be, if it is the milwaukee area then you the honorable mention category is incorrect considering there are kids from the fox valley on it...If this is all state, Al Judkins of kaukauna
was on first team...
Don't know the answer. It's just a pickup of what the MJS published. It does seem like a pretty wide berth for the Milwaukee area.
