Digging for Ellen at the MCC South Tournament

We received the e-mail below and photo above earlier this afternoon:

"Hello Vbub,

Since I'm not sure if you're aware that Kenosha St. Joseph's Head Girls Volleyball Coach Ellen Santarelli was diagnosed with leukemia in September, I thought I'd pass along a photo that was taken during intermission at the MCC South Conference Tournament this past weekend. All the girls were given "Dig for Ellen" t-shirts that were worn during warm-ups and throughout the day. It's another example of the compassion volleyball players, coaches, and fans show to those who suffer illness or tragedy."

After reading the thoughtful e-mail above, we did a quick Google search and discovered the following:
  • An "All in It for Ellen" website
  • Wisconsin Juniors is holding an open gym fundraiser on October 31, where they'll sell orange t-shirts for $10 -- all proceeds from t-shirt sales and open gym fees benefit Ellen
  • A 5K run/walk fundraiser on November 20
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ellen.
