NOTE: The following story is a direct pick-up from the UW-Oshkosh men's site. We've added Chris to our master list of 2010 men's volleyball recruits. Congrats.

Chris Pokrzywa, a 6-0 setter from New Berlin has decided to continue his volleyball playing career at UW-Oshkosh announced head coach Brian Schaefer.
Playing his prep career under head coach Kurt Derenne for New Berlin United, Pokrzywa helped his team win the 2009 WIAA state title by beating Nicolet High School in a five-set thriller this past fall. In the match he amassed 51 assists, while adding nine digs and nine blocks. For his efforts he was named WIAA All-state honorable mention and first-team all-conference. He was also a four-time varsity letterwinner and three-time captain leading his team to the conference title his senior campaign. Currently he plays for head coach Brad Kuehl for North Shore junior Olympic volleyball club as a starting setter. He is the son of Marilyn and Walter Pokrzywa and will study computer science at UW-Oshkosh

"I have heard many great things about UW-Oshkosh so I decided to take a look for myself. I loved the campus, size of the school, their computer science program, and of course, their volleyball team." said Pokrzywa.
"Chris will make an immediate impact for our team next season," said Schaefer. "He knows how to win, sets for a very good club team and will challenge our current setters next year that will make our team better."
