UW-Milwaukee Panthers Win Horizon League Championship and Automatic Bid to NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship

They win 3-1 over Cleveland State. Five players with double-digit digs. Schmitting and Sueppel with double-digit kills. Much, much more to come. Way to go, Panthers!!! Nicely done.

Congratulations to UWM on an outstanding second half of the season. Best Wishes for a good draw in the first round of the tournament.

My wife and I have tickets for the Regional Finals in Minneapolis (other locations being Omaha, Stanford and Florida). I have been playing around with the possible match ups in the semis and finals (assuming all the possible top 16 seeded teams get thru the first two rounds of competition) and am looking forward to some excellent volleyball.

Here are my predictions for the semi final round at each Regional.

Omaha

Penn State vs. So Cal
UCLA vs. Nebraska

A possible rematch of the Nebraska/Penn State championship semifinal from last year?

Minnesota

Illinois vs. Cal
Minnesota vs. Washington

Stanford

Hawaii vs. Florida St.
Michigan vs. Stanford

Florida

Iowa St. vs. Kentucky
Florida vs. Texas

Does anyone have any comment or predictions of their own.
