Turtle Lake should be much improved from their 5-5 coference, 10-14 overall record next year as they don't lose a single senior.

I agree with onpackerland. TL is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Their setter is amazing, and they have some nice hitters and solid fundamentals.

I had the all-conf list for weeks, but just couldn't bring myself to share it. I can't see how the best team in the state has only FOUR players recognized out of 23 spots. Surely some honorable mentions would have been in order. The "We Are Grantsburg" blog has a great editorial about it. Some of the conference coaches admitted they "didn't notice" some of Grantsburg's strong players because the outstanding ones overshadowed them. That's understandable, but when the matches go so quickly, it is difficult to rotate everyone through to GET noticed, and frequently the girls on the bench played the entire third set.

There is no perfect system to determine an all-conference team. There will always be deserving players overlooked. It's just a shame that a couple of Grantsburg girls weren't at least honorable mention.

I know you like to keep things positive. I hope this wasn't too "gripey." I recognize the imperfection of the process, and hold no one personally responsible.
