News from the National Senior Games

Several teams from Wisconsin are participating in the 2009 Senior Games in San Francisco. Many are still competing, but the Mens 50 division is over and Mad City, which had been seeded last, finished 5th. If you follow this link, you should see Mad City's Franco Marcos putting a ball away. Nicely done, Mad City.

So why the banner? Well, we also heard word that the second-place team had a player, Mitch Ziemer, who graduated from West Allis Hale back in the day so we borrowed the banner photo from the West Allis Hale site.

As several young players stressed in a recent post, one of the reasons they're playing volleyball as teenagers now is because they plan to still be playing the sport they love when they're 50.
