2009 High Performance Championships
We're still working on getting results from the 2009 HP Championships in a presentable form. Here's where we're at at the moment.

Badger Region Girls Select beat Team Florida to take 3rd place in Girls National Select. Team Florida got 4th place.
Roster is:
Abby Becker, Aly Dawson, Jenni Fassbender, Kellan Flynn, Mikaela Gunderson, Kaitlyn Hastings, Chelsea Lee, Maddie Lobenstein, Becca Mastey, Allison Roth, Emily Wineinger
Thanks for your efforts, and glad to see you'll be mentioning the Badger Region Select's great performance in Fort Lauderdale!
As a proud parent who was there, here's a minor correction and a couple observations:
1. Our Badger Select team finished alone (not tied) for 3rd place in the 24-team pool. As noted at http://assets.teamusa.org/assets/documents/attached_file/filename/15591/GNSWeb_playoffs.pdf, we knocked off Florida Region Red in the Bronze Medal match. We won that 4-set match despite being without two talented players, setter Allison Roth and outside hitter Alyssa Dawson, who were lost to knee injuries during our Gold semifinal loss the previous evening. That performance showed how deep and talented our Badger team was (as well as their great chemistry).
2. The Select champion (Southern California Red) was a juggernaut, going 24-0 in sets. Our Badger team gave them arguably their toughest match, losing two of the sets by just two points. We had a great chance to beat them in the first set, when we scored to go ahead 24-21. But a rotation violation was discovered, so the point was taken away (to make it 23-22) and we went on to lose a 24-26 heartbreaker. We also battled them to a back-and-forth 23-25 loss in the third set. In any case, it was a great effort by our Badger Select girls!
3. We really enjoyed the event and meeting and spending time with all the Badger Region parents who were there. :-)
4. It was neat to see the three Badger Region teams (Boys Youth, Girls International Youth, and Girls National Select) play a lot of great volleyball, and cheer for each other.
Don't forget Michelle Witt.
All the girls on this team played very well all week, and played great as a team. It is pretty difficult to do when they only work together for 5 days of practice prior to the tournament, but they had some great team chemistry.
The name of the TBA for the Badger Youth team is Meridith Ludwig. I believe is attends Whitefish Bay.
