Inclement Weather, Intense Volleyball: Early Results from Demetral in Madison

The wind blew. The rain fell. And the tournament was still a success with many outstanding teams from around the state participating. Here are some partial and unofficial (but getting closer to accurate we hope) results from the Open divisions at the Demetral 3-on-3 Tournament in Madison:

WOMENS OPEN
  1. Sheila Shaw (Muskego '01 and UW-Madison '05), Maria Carlini (UW-Madison) and Morgan Shields (Watertown '99 and UW-Madison '03)
  2. Amanda Craig, Kelly Bowman and Tina Carter
  3. Jackie Simpson (UW-Madison), Audra Jeffers (Arrowhead and UW-Madison) and Nikki Klingsporn (Marquette)
MENS OPEN
  1. Evan Berg (Westosha Central and Ball State), Chris Kozlarek and David Carlson
  2. James Bradley (UW-Oshkosh), Dave Koch (Lakeland '05), Marty Matthias and Jason Wheelock
  3. Pete Lee, Nate Sederberg (Racine Horlick and UW-Oshkosh) and Andrew Sederberg (Racine Horlick and UW-Oshkosh)
JUNIORS
  1. Elizabeth Koberstein (Madison West '10), Mackenzie Ziegler (Portage '11), Andrea Barman (Middleton '10) and Brandi Dolgner (Waupun '10)

Girls Jrs Division Champs = Elizabeth Koberstein, Mackenzie Ziegler, Andrea Barman, Brandi Dolgner

Over 60 teams played though the cold and damp weather. Not a good day for weather, but a great day of volleyball in Madison.
