Cheese & Volleyball & Twitter

Within the past few weeks, volleyball-related tweeting seems to gaining some serious momentum (kinda like when your best server gets on a run where the floaters are working, the jump is clicking and even the ball that drills the top of the tape and dribbles over is scoring a point, but we digress).

In any event, our own account (@VBCheese) is now following more coaches, players and volleyball organizations than ever. And it's been a great way to find out things we wouldn't have learned otherwise. Here's just a sample of who we're following and why:

• Denver University Volleyball (@DUVolleyball) is how we'll keep track of assistant coach Todd Nelson, who's originally from New Richmond
  
• Illinois State Volleyball (@Illinois_ST_VB) is one way we'll follow the collegiate career of Tabitha Visk (Westosha Central '08)
• Western Illinois Volleyball (@WIUVolleyball) is how we'll do the same for players Allison Gilbert (West Salem '08) and Brooke Stittleburg (Black River Falls '08) as well as assistant coach Melissa David (UW-Milwaukee '06)
• Iowa State Volleyball (@CycloneVB) is how we'll do the same for Ashley Mass (Muskego '07) and Debbie Stadick (Watertown '08)
  
• UW-Green Bay Athletics (@GBPhoenix) will help us stay up-to-the-moment on Phoenix volleyball this fall
• Badger Volleyball (@BadgerVBall) will help you do the same for the team in Madison
  
• Brian Zimmerman (@BriZimm) coaches the Neenah boys team (and we believe some club volleyball as well) so his tweets should prove insightful as the fall season approaches
