GLPL 18s Standings After Opening Weekend: The Official Link
Here's the link. Here's a list of the Wisconsin teams that finished first in their gold division pool (later tonight, we'll try to add where other Wisconsin teams finished).
Hey, I'm clueless. Is there are a relationship between the GL tournament and any other tourney that teams enter (like Grand Poobah of Midwest Tournaments, or something), or are they all running their own gigs with their own champions? Anyway, I'm going to Stoughton Sunday for Capital VB tourney. I'll be one of the clueless ones who will try to bring back updates.
OK, I'll take a stab at this and anyone can correct me where I get it wrong. Each tournament is basically a standalone event. Some, however, like the GLPL and Badger Tour, take several weekends of competition to determine the ultimate winner. The closest thing to a "Grand Poobah of Midwest Tournaments" might be the Badger Region Championships for Wisconsin clubs. There's also the Badger Region Qualifier for those teams that want to go to the Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships this summer in Miami (for the girls). Several girls' teams, however, opt to go to the JVDA Championships instead (long story). That event occurs in Louisville at the end of June. This overlong explanation either helped or further confused. Hope it's the former. Good luck in Stoughton.
Cheese & Volleyball's mission is to cover all things volleyball in Wisconsin. We're bringing all sorts of online data together in one place so all you'll have to bring is the sharp cheddar. Enjoy. You can contact us directly by e-mailing vbuberalles@gmail.com. Thanks.
