Here's to Three Days of "Leaving It All Out There on the Court"

During the sectional finals, we did a post that tried to convey the absurd closeness of a lot of volleyball matches. In many ways, however, it's impossible to do that without experiencing them firsthand.

And even then it's really, really hard.

Earlier this morning, someone shared with us an opinion that certain media reports didn't adequately depict just how "very hard fought" each match was and that it "didn't come down to one play."

It never does.

The reason we applauded the silver ball winners yesterday in the same breath as the gold ball recipients is because we fully understand how many bounces, whistles and critical moments make up an entire season. And every team, whether they were still playing on Saturday or not, should be incredibly proud of the dedication, effort and sportsmanship it took to achieve what they were able to achieve over the entire season

We echo how the person who wrote to us earlier this morning closed her or his remarks: "All respect for a great, hard-fought battle."
