Do the Math: Top 4 in D1 S3 = Final 4 in Big 8 Tournament

According to this story in the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison Memorial (seeded No. 2 in D1 S4) defeated Madison West (seeded No. 3) in an incredibly intense 19-17 third game final of the Big Eight Tournament. (Note: We're just talking about tournament results here. Please see comment below regarding conference championship.)

Madison West had earlier beaten a determined squad from Middleton (seeded No. 1 in D1 S4) in one semi by the scores of 26-24, 23-25, 16-14. In the other semi, Madison Memorial defeated Sun Prairie (seeded No. 4).

And speaking of Sun Prairie, we heard something about Jessica Sempf and a 25-point serving run in an earlier match. Wow.

Just a correction for those who read the Wisconsin State Journal. Madison Memorial is the Big 8 Conference Tournament Champion. Middleton is the Big 8 Conference Champion. It was reported in error that Madison Memorial claimed the Big 8 Championship with their win over Madison West.
