What FOCVs Are Saying about Friday Night at the Lynn LaPorte Sprawl

According to Friends of Cheese & Volleyball who were there, the first night of the Lynn LaPorte Sprawl was great. There were huge crowds and fantastic volleyball, complete with a new layout of courts that provided much better viewing: "You could sit in the middle of the bleachers and watch five great matches." We believe the following teams finished first and second in their respective pools:

Pool A
1. Pius XI
2. Kenosha Tremper

Pool B
1. Waupun
2. Westosha

Pool C
1. West Bend West
2. Muskego

Pool D
1. West Bend East
2. Kimberly

Pool E
1. Catholic Memorial
2. Watertown

Pool F
1. Menomonee Falls
2. Beaver Dam

We successfully predicted nine of the 12 teams. We incorrectly predicted that Kimberly, Watertown and Beaver Dam would finish lower than they actually did (in spite of what the voters in our D1 S4 poll were trying so hard to tell us). We believe this is also the first time in several years that both West Bend schools finished first in their pools. Can't wait to find out how it all turns out. We'll try to post positive comments about results as quickly as they come in.

Thanks for not actually uttering the words, "We told you so." Congrats to the Golden Beavers for making it to the medal round from the last seed in the entire tourney.
