State Your Case for All-Cheese 2008: Sophomore Class Edition

OK, so we're going to try something new, which means it might fail as miserably as our reporting of yesterday's Lynn LaPorte Sprawl (we apologize again and again). Anyhow, the season has progressed to a point where it might be good to start figuring out who deserves serious consideration for end-of-year honors.

And what better honor to bestow then to be named All-Cheese by this blog?

Frankly, we haven't decided how many will be on our All-Cheese list(s) or whether they'll be divided by division, class year or some other criteria. What we do know is that we're starting the nominating process right here, right now with sophomores. Here's how it's gonna work:
  1. Think of a player from the class of 2011, male or female, whom you find deserving of All-Cheese accolades (that's the easy part).
  2. Send an e-mail to vbuberalles@gmail.com that states your case for this particular player.
  3. You could also nominate players by adding either an anonymous or a non-anonymous comment to this post, but please, please, please understand that for this particular exercise we will not be publishing any of these comments.
  4. Instead, we'll sort through all information received, both via e-mail and comment, and create a list of nominees that includes a brief description about the player's accomplishments.
  5. We also want to be clear that this is intended to be a fun exercise that gives the state of Wisconsin one more way to showcase its incredible talent. It is not intended to, nor can it, replace any existing all-state, all-area or all-conference list and, frankly, it would be a poor substitute if viewed as such. If you watch football (it's that other fall sport with the funny-shaped ball) this is gonna be more Monday Night "Horse Trailer Player of Game" than All-Pro selection.
Enough with the set-up. Let hear the names of some Top Cheeses in the Class of 2011.

Sophomores would be graduating in 2011. The last sentence says, "Let hear the names of some Top Cheeses in the Class of 2012." It should say, "2011."

Seniors-2009
Juniors-2010
Sophomores-2011
Freshmen-2012

Our typo. Let's hope this year's sophomores are on track to graduate in 2011. We'll correct immediately.

when you receive comments, are they immediately posted or are they filtered before being posted eliminating any negative comments?

All comments to the blog are filtered to pull out the negative.

In addition, we're not publishing any comments to this particular post if it's a player nomination. We've explained why above.

Let us know if you're still confused.

Not sure where this belongs, but here is confirmation regarding Ellen Chapman's verbal commitment to UW-Madison.
