Midseason Pep Talk: Livin' the 15-13 Dream

First a little news: On the boys side, Racine Horlick (S6) defeated Kenosha Tremper (S5) in five last night, with the deciding game ending 15-13. Kurt Larsen of Racine Horlick had another big night, putting up 43 assists according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. And someone on the Volleyball Mag discussion board is reporting that outside hitter Tomas Goldsmith of Kenosha Tremper had a huge night as well.

Now an observation: What's most remarkable about the above story is that it's not really all that unusual. Think about how many "win by two" matches have already occurred in this state. Now look ahead and imagine how many more of these matches are left. Will a state championship be decided by a 15-13 fifth game? Who knows? Our job is to enjoy every last heart-stopping point.
