I smell a big change in 'rankings' for girls DIII. WI Heights was ranked 7th in the WVCA while Aquinas was ranked 1st and Cuba City was number 2.

Rankings are always interesting. While CC won state they lost a ton of kids. Meanwhile Heights, who was knocked out in 5 sets by CC last year, lost next to nothing so far as the core of their '07 team is concerned. One would be hard pressed to not consider them the top team in DIII.

I would also suspect Belleville get into the next ranking as they beat cuba city with relative ease. I think CC moves down to HM, Aquinas (great setter) maybe just inside or outside of the top 5.

But what do I know?

We agree that rankings are what they are: useful and not so useful at the same time. We suspect that any of the D3 teams you mentioned has a realistic shot to make some noise at the end of the year. It will be exciting to see how it all shakes out. We don't know much about Belleville--any insights?
