Will the Lancers Slice Through the Competition: A Preview of Girls Division Three Sectional Four

You've got your Dutchmen. You've got your Marshladies. And you've got everyone else in between. Here, without further delay, is your very, very topline preview of who's who and what's what in division three sectional four. It's going to be a wild ride that includes a Wild Rose. On your mark, get set, let's preview.

REGIONAL A

Contenders: Horicon, Laconia, Lomira, Markesan, Montello, Pardeeville, Tri-County and Wild Rose.

Top Finisher Last Year: Laconia lost in a sectional semifinal.

Random Notes: Horicon has senior Marshlady Brianna Schwartz who earned honorable mention all-state honors last year. Other stars include all-conference junior Allee Yundt. Junior setter Kacie Phillips will likely get the Tri-County offense started again this year. Senior all-conference honoree Kate Nolan could help Laconia make another deep run in the playoffs. Kristyn Emmer is a senior all-conference performer for Lomira.

REGIONAL B
Contenders: Howards Grove, Manitowoc Lutheran, North Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Roncalli, Saint Mary’s Springs, Sheboygan Area Lutheran and Winnebago Lutheran Academy

Top Finisher Last Year: Sheboygan Area Lutheran and Manitowoc Lutheran both reached regional finals.

Random Notes: Manitowoc Lutheran will have a strong team that includes junior hitter Brianna Robley who had 197 kills last year for the Lancers. Karen Woldt is a junior all-conference performer for Winnebago Lutheran.

REGIONAL C

Contenders: Brookfield Academy, Cedar Grove-Belgium, Dominican, Heritage Christian, Oostburg, Ozaukee, Random Lake and University School of Milwaukee

Top Finisher Last Year: Oostburg lost in the division three final to Cuba City.

Random Notes: Oostburg returns senior middle Ali Swart, who had 202 kills last year and a .416 hitting percentage. Junior setter Julie Raeder will help make it easy for her fellow Dutchmen to pick up those kills.

REGIONAL D

Contenders: Kenosha Christian Life, Kenosha St. Joseph, Martin Luther, Racine Lutheran, Racine Saint Catherine’s, Shoreland Lutheran and The Prairie School

Top Finisher Last Year: Shoreland Lutheran lost to Oostburg in the sectional final.

Random Notes: Racine Lutheran has senior all-conference star Rachel Aumann and senior Anna Meier is one of the stars for Racine Prairie.

Our Prediction: Manitowoc Lutheran over Oostburg in five.

Next Up: Girls Division Two Sectional One
