A.K.A. The Belgian Hammer

While engaging in a lively girls D3 discussion over at SportsNat.com, one of the commenters tossed out a nickname that we hadn't heard before for Oostburg's Megan VanTatenhove (Class of 2008 and a St. Bonaventure basketball recruit): "The Belgian Hammer."

And, of course, that got us to thinking: What other nicknames are out there? Add some of your favorites as a comment to this post and we'll consider publishing them. Why won't we automatically do so? Because nicknames can obviously be a little tricky and we don't want to publish anything that might offend.

With that in mind, we'll be taking a look at each and deciding if it passes what we'll call the "local newspaper test," meaning it's a nickname that could realistically be found at a reputable online source. You know what we're trying to avoid so we won't ramble on.
