Five Badger Region Volleyball Players Make USA Boys' and Men's High Performance Teams

Five Badger Region players have been named to the 2008 USA boys' and men's high performance teams:

• Alex Becherer, Libero, North Shore, Youth National Training
• Peter Hutz, Setter, North Shore, Select A1
• Connor Keating, Middle, Lake Country, Select A1
• Matthew Klingspohn, Leftside, North Shore, Select A1
• Trevor Novotny, Leftside, West Allis Lightning, Select A1

According the the USAV press release, the youth national training team "will practice at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., beginning in mid-June. The team will be cut to a final squad of 12 athletes, who will compete in the NORCECA Under-21 Continental Championship, scheduled for June 30-July 5 in El Salvador."

The Select A1 Camp "consists of 40 athletes and eight coaches who will fly to Tucson, Ariz., on July 17, train for five days, then break into four teams and compete in the U.S. High Performance Championship, which runs through July 27."
