From the banter on message boards, it appears the Badgers are on the verge of announcing a new assistant coach to replace Rod Wilde. In fact, just minutes after preparing this post, we noticed that the name of Brian Heffernan did, in fact, appear in the Rod Wilde slot on the UW site. We're not sure how long the profile link on the Washington State site will remain live, but here's what they have for his bio.
And in other news, the University of Wisconsin will be represented at the AVP Collegiate Nationals. More to come on both stories.

Waterford's Abby Beilke had 13 kills in a match win over Wilmot on October 7th, 2008. With the 13 kills Abby now has 1,004 kills for her High School career. Abby is the first player to achieve 1,000 kills in the the School's history. Previous Kill record was held by UW-Milwaukee standout Cheryl Hegamann with 748 kills over the course of her High School career. Not sure if there is a 1,000 kill club but it appears we have it's newest member. Congratulations Abby and good luck with the rest of your season.
Thanks for the information. There isn't a 1,000 kill club (yet). We'll make sure this info gets to the top of the blog.
